Dr. Avner Y. Yemin

Dr. Avner Y. Yemin is a highly accomplished board-certified diagnostic radiologist specializing in musculoskeletal imaging. He currently serves as Chief of the Musculoskeletal Radiology Section and Director of Recruiting in private practice since 2016, while also holding an elected position on the Management Committee since 2021.

A graduate of the University of Florida with a B.S. in Microbiology and Cell Science magna cum laude, Dr. Yemin earned his Medical Doctor degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2009, followed by a surgical internship at Beth Israel Medical Center, and diagnostic radiology residency and musculoskeletal fellowship at New York University.

Certified by the American Board of Radiology since 2015 and eligible as a Nuclear Regulatory Commission Authorized User, Dr. Yemin has contributed extensively to research — authoring five peer-reviewed papers, numerous presentations, and a book chapter. Prior roles include moonlighting at high-volume ultrasound clinics and diagnostic radiology at Aventura Hospital.

His leadership spans chairing a National Clinical Advisory Board for Radiology from 2021 to 2025, serving on various committees, and past presidencies of Mount Sinai's Student Council and University of Florida's Omicron Delta Kappa chapter. He has earned awards including Fellow of the Year, Alpha Omega Alpha, and Surgical Intern of the Year.
